Published Last reviewed

This page explains the principles behind everything we publish.

Accuracy first

Every factual claim in a published article that could reasonably change over time — a fare, an opening hour, an entry requirement, a schedule — is checked against a current, named source before publication, and the article’s Published and Last Reviewed dates reflect when that check happened. An article is only published once it passes our internal accuracy and sourcing checks; a finished draft does not become public on its own.

Independence

Korea, Lived is not sponsored by, and does not represent, any tourism board, airline, platform, or brand. Where an article discusses a service that we may earn a commission from, that relationship is disclosed on the article itself — see our Affiliate Disclosure. Editorial judgments about what to recommend are made independently of any commercial relationship.

Cultural context, not stereotypes

We aim to explain the reasoning and context behind Korean customs and practices, not to reduce them to a single rule presented as universal. Where practice varies by region, generation, or situation, we say so.

Keeping articles current

Articles carry a visible Published date and Last Reviewed date, and an Updated date only when a substantive change has been made to the public content. Time-sensitive articles are reviewed on a recurring schedule so that fares, hours, and requirements do not go stale unnoticed.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it and, for material errors, publish a visible correction notice describing what changed. See our Corrections Policy for the exact levels of correction and what each one means for readers.

Use of automated tools

Automated tools, including AI, may assist with research organization, drafting, editing, and metadata — but they do not decide what gets published, and they are never treated as a source of facts. See our AI and Automation Disclosure for the current scope of automation on this site.
